Scott Taylor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began his photographic career at the Chapel Hill Newspaper. Taylor moved into University and Public Relations photography at the Duke University Marine Laboratory culminating his Duke career as the Assistant Director for Communications for Nicholas School of the Environment. After leaving Duke, Taylor opened a photography gallery and studio in Beaufort. His work can be seen in regional and national magazines, books, and publications, and his fine art photographs have been exhibited widely and are held in several private collections.
Taylor recently retired as the Chair of the Photographic Technologies Program at the Carteret Community College in Morehead City, North Carolina. He continues to maintain an active practice.
